We play.

So what does one do when one is contemplating moving across the country and is stressed and nervous and anxious?

One plays, of course!

The sunshine and my daughter's joyful spirit don't stop with tough situations, man.  For all she knows, today is just as good of a day for sliding as any other.

So sliding we go.

A few blocks away from our house is an elementary school that has killer awesome toys.  It's every Mama's dream.

And you know what?

After playing, I think we all felt better.

I titled this shot, "Nasty Kids Hands".

And I titled this shot, "I need a haircut".

I must thank you, dear readers, for all the love and support you've shown us during this time.  There were a few comments that came through on my Blackberry that brought tears to my eyes.  Knowing there is a community of saints, who I've never met, out there praying for our family has brought such a peace and calmness to this crazy situation.  It has been such a blessing - truly, a blessing.  So thank you.  You've made a huge difference in my mental health, for which my entire family is thankful.

Maybe it's good for us adults to take a few lessons from our children - who always are able to enjoy the moment they are in.

Especially when that moment involves walks with Mama.  And slides.

  1. Love this post and love that you are being transparent in your fears/uncertainties about moving South. My family lives in Montgomery, and although I will have to look and see where Fairhope is (I am a Georgia transplant), I can tell you that you will be blessed in Alabama. Prayers of clarity, seeing God's will, and blessings to you!
