My sister.

This is my seester.

Not sister.  Seester.  Tye.

When people used to ask her if Tye was short for anything, she would say "Yeah, it's short for Tyeisha."  But that, my friends, is a lie.  Tye is just for Tye.

You may remember Tye (and her husband Ty) from this:

You're welcome for bringing that back.  If you'd like to catch up on a few more blasts-from-the-archives, you can read more about Tye here, here, and here.

Well, today is my little sister's 23rd birthday.  And what a better way to wish her a happy birthday than to broadcast it to thousands of readers!

Happy Birthday, sister!

You may not believe me, but her and I used to get into trouble a lot together.  I shall spare you the details, but I will tell you that it involved a chimp, pleather pants, a bookie named Joe Money, and a high speed chase.

Bah ha.  I kid, I kid.

In all honesty though, girlfriend couldn't have asked for a cooler sister.  I'm so thankful to get to enjoy her sweet face on weekly basis.  She keeps me up to date on fashion trends.  She lets me talk about my baby more than is socially acceptable.  And she brings me yummy smelling candles from her work.

Can I get a hoo-ha, sister?

Oh, and just for the record, I love my older sister Brynn just as much.  It's just not her birthday, yet.

Tell my bout YOUR sister!

  1. My sister (who I consistently call Seester as well) is AWESOME. She also reads your blog therefore I have to say that ;) I think you two would get along fabulously. I miss her dearly and wish I could see her weekly. So instead we do copious amounts of google chatting :) Have a wonderful week Shaye!

  2. Happy Birthday Tye!!

My sister (who I always call seester and vice versa) is 8 years younger than me and I didn't fully appriecate her until I gave birth to my son (she was 16). She and I both now mothers to 2 boys so our bond is further strengthened by being mothers. She is the greatest mother and seester.. I could not have asked for a better woman to grow up with.

Sidenote: Thank you posting the seester comment. My husband thought my sister and I were strange for calling each other seester. He had never heard sisters calling each other that until he met me and now he knows different, he is the strange one ;)

  3. My sister is 14 years older than me and there are 3 brothers in between. We talk every morning over coffee, every day at naptime and in the evenings we walk together. also we do all of our shopping together and run to each other's houses for stuff all the time since we're right down the road. I cannot think of one fight we've ever had!! We always thought that all sisters were like that and recently started realizing how rare it is. I'm 26 and she's 39 btw! I could not live without her.......she is my rock!!
