Sugar & Salt Scrub.

A beauty routine is a personal thing, isn't it?

Some of us buff, some of us scrub, some of us brush, some of us tweeze, some of us curl.

I am a wash-er, exfoliate-er, cream smear-er, waxin' fool.

We've already talked about my castile soap face wash.  And we've also already talked about my homemade face cream.  But what we have yet to talk about is my scrub, baby.

A homemade sugar & salt scrub to be more exact.

If you're looking for a good place to start making homemade items, well then my friends, this is the perfect place to start.  Mixing up this scrub takes approximately forty five seconds.

It's faster than scrambling an egg.

It's faster than changing a diaper.

It's faster than sweeping dog hair off your floors.

And it's definitely faster than doing dishes.

So procrastinate on all those tasks and make this instead.  After forty five seconds, you'll feel so proud of yourself, you'll just breeze through your remaining 'to-do' list with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

And I'm not even being dramatic.

Sugar & Salt Body Scrub
You will need:
 - 1/4 cup sugar (this is one of my only recipes I use white sugar for!)
 - 1/4 cup sea salt
 - 1/4 cup coconut oil
 - 20 drops lavender oil & 20 drops peppermint oil (or essential oil of your choice!)

Step One:  Combine the sugar, salt, and coconut oil in a bowl.

Step Two:  Use a fork to smoosh it all together.

Step Three:  Add in your essential oils...and smoosh a little bit more.

BAM.  Told ya it was fast.

I store mine in a recycled baby food jar that I stole from my sister - it's perfect for keeping in the shower.

To use, I simply use my fingers to scoop out a nickel-sized dollop of the cream and use my fingertips to massage it onto my face and neck.  After I wash off my makeup with castile soap, of course.

It's heavenly and the coconut oil leaves my skin super soft and moisturized.

And on a side note, I did have quite the skin-scare today.  While I was brushing my teeth, I looked at myself in the mirror - and to my horror, I saw a giant black hair sticking out of my chin!  How can this be?! 25 years old aren't supposed to have chin hairs?!

I cried!

I screamed!

I threw myself on the floor, kicking my legs and banging my fists on the ground!

I cried some more!

Then, I looked closer, and realized it was a dog hair that was stuck to my face.

...

Phew!  That was close!

A girl can never be too careful about these things...I think I'll get waxed.

Just in case.

  1. The scrub sounds amazing! Had to laugh at your "scare", sorry. But your false scare, is reality at my age! Trouble is, along with the wild hair my eyesight is not what it used to be. So the scary thought of what hairs am I NOT seeing sets in! LOL
